But first, an On-Purpose maxim:
Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action. ~Benjamin Disraeli
Here is the uplifting inspirational desktop wallpaper for your computer. Please forward this message to your friends, and encourage them to subscribe!
This month's wallpaper in five popular screen resolutions has been archived on the main wallpaper page. It says, "Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action. ~Benjamin Disraeli" Yes, it's the maxim of the month.
The image for this wallpaper is courtesy of stock.xchng. I personally like this one set to "center," not "stretch," and a little smaller than my screen, with black all around the edges.
Action is quite a concept when battling depression. It signifies that you actually have to DO something to propel yourself forward, and that's quite difficult if one is clinically depressed or has many obstacles. This wallpaper will remind you to take some baby steps each day toward your goal.
Perhaps that baby step is to finally get to that book people have said you should read. If it's a self-help book, there's a big possibility that Mr. Brian Johnson has reviewed it on his service Philosopher's Notes. Using his mp3 files and short .pdf files is a quick and easy way to get the best ideas from many different self-help or philosophy books.
As a holiday gift to my subscribers and their friends, I have arranged with Brian Johnson to GIVE AWAY subscriptions to Philosopher's Notes until the end of 2008. Subscriptions normally go for $20 and get you access to cliff's notes (in the form of mp3 files or pdf) to most of society's bestselling self-help treasures. Read what Gay Hendricks has to say about this service:
“Brian Johnson is a national and international treasure, and his consciousness is a gift to us all. I'm delighted that his new service, PhilosophersNotes, is having such a large global impact. It's rare to discover a service that springs directly from the creator's genius, and rarer still to find something so useful that makes life richer and simpler. I encourage you to subscribe to PhilosophersNotes and tune to Brian's frequency.” ~ Gay Hendricks, Ph.D.,
Author of "Five Wishes"; Co-Author, with Dr. Kathlyn Hendricks, of "Conscious Loving"
Whether you're pressed for time and can't read all the books in your list, or whether you'd like to find out if you'd like the book before you buy it, Philosopher's Notes is for you. You can put the mp3 files on your mp3 player or burn to CD and listen while you commute. You can get the gist of a title in ten to twenty minutes vs. the hours it would take you to read it yourself. Choose philosopher's notes on titles like:
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven Covey
Authentic Happiness by Martin Seligman
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle
Loving What Is by Byron Katie
Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki
Brian Johnson has read all the titles he reviews, and personally outlines the book for you, giving you the biggest ideas from the book. Jump-start your creativity, learn about a new author, or experience your next a-ha moment with this valuable subscription! Set up your account now, and pass this email to a friend.

I've been very busy putting the finishing touches on my ebook, so that's all I have this month. My book title is "Sad for No Reason:The Shocker List of Deficiencies that May Contribute to Depression." I hope to release it soon.
Until next time!
