Live On Purpose is about helping you become conscious
of your thought patterns, so you can make better decisions
in your life. Don't live an accidental life! Live on purpose.
This month's focus is about the effects of stress.
But first, an On-Purpose maxim:
"When you align with your purpose, your work will be your joy and your love made manifest through action." ~James Ray

Sad for no Reason: How to use the Mood Food Connection to Banish Depression Naturally
My ebook "Sad for no Reason" is about the mood food connection as it relates to depression. It is a resource guide meant to help you start your journey to wellness by investigating the nourishment you give your body and your resulting moods. There is a 24-item shocker list of deficiencies that could contribute to depression if deficient. If you buy now you'll get access to three bonus items: a poster you can print for your kitchen, a copy of "As a Man Thinketh", and the Philosopher's Note to "Loving What Is." Both of these links will go to the correct page, so you can pass along the one that's easiest to remember:

I would like to announce the affiliate program for Sad for No Reason. If you believe strongly in the message of the book, please consider joining the affiliate program to help me reach even more people with this important information. You will have access to a full control panel through Paydotcom to track your affiliate link activity, and if someone who used your affiliate link lands on the Sad for No Reason site and purchases the book, I'll pay you 30% of the purchase price. That's $4.48 per book sold, minus $1 processing fee, = $3.48 for each sale coming through your affiliate link.
I am trying to keep the initial price of the book low to make it easy for everyone to have access to this information. That's why I have kept the price of the ebook $14.95 for the digital copy. Please reply to me at jess@liveonpurpose.info if you would like to see the book in print. I do have several options to consider for print-on-demand, and that would increase the price of the book, thereby increasing your commission.
As we wrap up April, Stress Awareness month, I'd like to give you some links to web sites that help with stress management.
In the words of Brother Daniel Ottawa in Canada: For anger we say count to 10; for stressing out we should say take 10 slow, deep belly breaths through the nose. Try it, you'll like it!
I have a general collection of articles about the link between emotions and your health. These articles may be about anger, sadness, depression, or stress. Emotions in the News
Stress at Newsweek from Jun 14, 1999: In The Short Term It's Vital, But Over Time It Turns Destructive. New Research Shows How Chronic Stress Breaks Down The Body And Makes Way For Disease. Newsweek shows us how stress affects our different body systems and compares short term to long term effects.
Smart Woman's Guide to Midlife and Beyond: Stress Awareness Month:
This short article explains the results of a study on stress published at the National Academy of Sciences. The good news is brain function can change, and then change again. It is great to know that stress-induced changes are reversible.
Change of Heart: Stress Facts by Marianna Paulson, B.Ed., B.P.E.-O.R.

Hours after stress has subsided, hormonal levels of adrenaline, noradrenaline, and cortisol can remain high. In chronic stress situations, cortisol is being produced at a steady, constant rate. Elevated levels can impair memory and learning, destroy brain cells, increase fat accumulation around the waist and hips, inhibit skin growth and regeneration, reduce muscle mass, increase bone loss and promote osteoporosis, reduce glucose utilization, and impair immune function.

Change of Heart Stress Solutions
Marianna Paulson, "Auntie Stress" is a Licensed HeartMath® Provider. I've heard of HeartMath through the research I did for the Sad for No Reason book, so it's about time to feature this amazing resource. Author of "Happy for no Reason" Marci Shimoff explains that HeartMath is a highly esteemed research group whose work has been verified in studies conducted by Stanford University and Miami Heart Research Institute. Research findings indicate that our hearts generate an electromagnetic field around us that is several feet in diameter and 5,000 times greater than the field generated by the brain. When you experience negative emotions like stress, anger, frustration, an erratic pattern (called incoherence) of heart rate variability is caused, and can damage your body.
HeartMath researchers found that when people focus on emotions such as appreciation, love, and gratitude, they are able to create more coherence in their heart rhythms at will. This, of course, helps the body maintain good health.
Just a little research into HeartMath helped me to understand that their mission is to help people learn how to regulate their stress. In fact, they are so committed to this cause, there is a free de-stress kit page at their site, where you can download a booklet and audio files to learn more. I highly recommend you take advantage of this free information about how to de-stress your life.
And I would be remiss if I didn't speak a little about Holosync as a way to de-stress. I have been using Holosync since 2004, and it has helped me resolve feelings of overwhlem. It helped me look at problems from a new angle, thereby helping me with my relationships. It releases me from any feelings of depression that might creep up on me, and it can instantly resolve feelings of stress. It is simply a CD that I listen to with headphones; it uses binaural beat technology to influence my brainwave patterns. The more symmetrical one's brainwaves, the more peaceful one feels. If you want to read more fully about my experience with Holosync, read my story.
Until next time!
